All original issue items, unless otherwise noted. I sell the uniform items as I buy them in. I also do not do any repairs to them. In some cases alterations have been made, some with pockets or epaulettes removed by the soldier, but that is the way he wore it.

Royal Air Force Sidcot (named after the designer, Sidney Cotton) Electrically Wired flight suit inner/liner, 1941, stamped with Crown over A.M. for Air Ministry, complete with original A.M. zippers, all in working order, Size 3, to fit 5 foot 7 inch to 5 foot 8 inch height, 34/36 inch chest, 30/32 inch waist, 36/38 inch seat, 29 inch legs, Kapok Lining, slightly faded, overall VGC and scarce. $ 150.00

S.A. Army

In the South African Defence Force it was customary for an N.C.O. to wear their rank on a brassard, commonly known as a sleeve, which is slipped over the upper arm and looped over the epaulette of the shirt, which holds it in place. These brassards and officers epaulettes can be found in the Army Badges Africa section, under Rank Badges. Since the introduction of the camo uniforms these brassards are no longer worn and rank is sewn directly onto the uniform.

15.     Cape Town Highlanders Drum Majors uniform consisting of dark blue tunic with gilt buttons, bi-metal collar badges (CO 230 & 231), gold braid around collar, epaulettes and cuffs, with three gold braid stripes coming from edge of cuff to three gilt buttons, on each cuff, two gilt buttons on lower reverse of tunic, and gold braid bandsmans wings on each shoulder, four gold braid Drum Majors inverted stripes on lower right sleeve; large gold bullion wire Drum Majors badge on upper right sleeve (only one ever made) with brass Kings Crown above; brass belt hooks; red, yellow and black aiguillette with tassels, medal ribbons for the S.A.General Service Medal, Unitas Medal, De Wet Decoration, John Chard Medal, 1939-45 Star, Africa Star, Defence Medal, War Medal and Africa Service Medal; Gordons tartan kilt; white leather dress belt with metal buckle (CO 2564); sporran with gilt metal rim and gilt metal badge (CO 225), white hair with two black hair tassels, sporran strap and chain; brown socks with red and black woolen hose tops and red sock flashes; black brogue shoes and white spats with black buttons; and Glengarry with red, white and black band, two black ribbons at the back and bi-metal Glengarry badge (CO 229) mounted over black ribbon; all in very good condition. This Drum Major served for many years in the Cape Town Highlanders band under three different Band Masters. This has to be the most complete and most impressive uniform, and one of the most scarce, I have ever handled. $ 450.00

This uniform belonged to Colonel H.Hardingham who served with Natal Mounted Rifles during WWII as a Corporal and was later commissioned, became Officer Commanding and later Honorary Colonel of the Regiment. He is mentioned throughout the book The Official Natal Mounted Rifles History, by Eric Goetzsche, and appears in many of the photos. 84.     Natal Mounted Rifles Colonels Mess Dress uniform jacket, inner vest/jacket, trousers, black bow tie and boots, black jacket with green collars, cuffs and epaulettes, chromed metal name badge HARDINGHAM, chromed buttons, Colonel rank stars and collar badges (similar to CO 475, facing pair) over light blue material backings, size RR117 and dated 1989; red inner vest/jacket with buttons; black trousers with green band down each leg, leather boot straps and buckles on each leg, size PS117 and dated 1992; black leather traditional boots with spurs and two handles with metal hooks for pulling boots on, all in VGC.
