Bophuthatswana

  1. Rucksack, a large pouch with a medium size lower pouch and four smaller side pouches, two on each side, above each other, and a zip-up pouch in the top flap cover, black nylon straps and plastic buckles, no metal frame nor shoulder straps, appears to be one that was never completed at the factory, olive green material, little dirty from storage, otherwise near mint. $ 55.00
  2. Rucksack, a large pouch with a medium size lower pouch and four smaller side pouches, two on each side, above each other, and a zip-up pouch in the top flap cover, black nylon straps and plastic buckles, no metal frame nor shoulder straps, has had the inner divider panel between the two large pouches removed to make one large pouch, and has a wide brown nylon band sewn around the bag to hold the two pouches together, olive green material, name written on the front and some dried out glue on four spots where something must have been glued to the front at some stage, otherwise near mint. $ 50.00

 

Canada

  1. Basic pouches, set of four, two with REAR stamped on and two with FRONT, all four have the arrow within a C stamp, which I believe stands for Canada, and what looks like Z.L. & T.Ltd, two pouches are dated 1940 and the other two 1941, the two FRONT pouches have had the back fittings removed and two black nylon belt straps sewn on, and one is painted camoflage, otherwise all four in VGC. I bought these from an ex-Rhodesian who used the two FRONT pouches as part of his webbing. $ 20.00

 

Ciskei

I recently found some webbing that has been in storage for years. These were mainly the Sample Patterns that were held by the manufacturer until sold off some years back. Some of them are incomplete, with a pouch missing or some stitching not completed, and none of the chest webbing have the padded shoulder straps, otherwise they are all in mint condition and very scarce. I will list any faults in each items description.

  1. Chest webbing, three large central R4 magazine pouches with three smaller pouches on left side and two on right side, and a map pouch on the back, same pattern as the green 32 Bn chest webbing, brown material with orange/brown cotton and black straps, no padded shoulder straps, mint. $ 65.00

 

Communist Bloc/Terrorist

1.      AK47 magazine, long, slight surface rusting, otherwise VGC. MAW3 H3. (3 in stock) $ 35.00 each

5.      Groundsheet/shelter, rubberized green canvas with wooden toggles on the outside and canvas loops on the inside, for joining shelters together, VGC. $ 35.00

6.      Rifle cleaning kit in grey leather pouch, carried by Selous Scout Officer, VGC. $ 35.00

7.      RPD light machine gun, 7.62mm, cleaning kit inside flat black tin, all parts present, normally stored in butt of gun, VGC. $ 25.00

8.      RPK/RPD drum magazine belt pouch, khaki webbing with black leather straps, captured in Angola, VGC. $ 25.00

9.      Soviet waterbottle, metal painted green, in black leather belt pouch, numerous bullet holes, captured in Angola, by Koevoet Major, from a terrorist who no longer had any use for it, pretty shot up. $ 25.00

10.   Terrorist webbing and leather shoulder bag, 4 compartments, for carrying 4 AK47 magazines, small pocket on front removed, leather flap retainer strap, good. Similar to MAW1 pg. 14. $ 30.00

11.   Tokarev brown leather holster with flap cover, spare magazine pouch and internal pouch for the metal cleaning rod, cleaning rod present, belt loop repaired, otherwise VGC. $ 35.00

12.   Tokarev brown leather holster with leather retainer strap and spare magazine pouch, loops on outside of holster for metal cleaning rod, one loop removed, belt loop repaired, otherwise VGC. $ 30.00

13.   Unidentified Communist Bloc pouch, possible rocket launcher, 1,84 meters long, khaki webbing material with brown leather retainer strap and reinforcements at top and bottom, has a 34cm inside circumference, a white paint spot, otherwise VGC. $ 45.00

14.   Unidentified holster, black leather with spare magazine pouch and flap over, brought back from Angola, VGC. $ 30.00

15.   Water bottle, square plastic with small and large plastic cups and large metal canteen with handle that clips over top of water bottle when all fitted together, captured in Angola by Koevoet Major, VGC. $ 40.00

 

Germany

1.      East German Army nylon yolk for load bearing kit, grey, mint. $ 5.00

4.      Holster, pistol, light brown with webbing retainer strap, press stud fastener, VGC. I have seen this holster being used by officers in the army in the late 1990s to date, but am not sure whether it is an issue item or private purchase. $ 25.00

South West Africa/Namibia

I recently found some webbing that has been in storage for years. These were mainly the Sample Patterns that were held by the manufacturer until sold off some years back. Some of them are incomplete, with a pouch missing or some stitching not completed, and none of the chest webbing have the padded shoulder straps, otherwise they are all in mint condition and very scarce. I will list any faults in each items description.

1.      Koevoet body armour/flak vest, nutria brown with Velcro adjusting straps, used for a short time by Koevoet members, some small repairs to nutria covering, otherwise VGC. $ 75.00

2.      S.W.A.T.F. Pattern 83 rucksack, with large upper pouch, two smaller pouches, one on each side, and a medium size pouch in the middle; lower medium size pouch with smaller size pouches, one either side, small buckles removed from straps and stitching come loose from bottom corner of one of the lower pouches, no frame, otherwise VGC and scarce. $ 95.00

 

Sweden

  1. Gas mask, khaki colour, stamped inside SVENSK TILLVERNING 298195 and 2G, paper sticker reads BICAPA STOCKHOLM, various names written inside, some scratched out, captured in an Angolan terrorist base by a Koevoet Major, VGC. $ 35.00

 

Switzerland

1.      Army Officers map case, canvas and leather, with long webbing shoulder strap, leather case stamped with + in a shield and J.TSCANNEN WOHLEN 15, minor repairs to canvas cover, VGC. $ 10.00

 

Unidentified

  1. Canteen, aluminium, upright, grey, upright, with loose inner cup/dixie, used by a Selous Scout officer in the bush, VGC. (West German?) $ 15.00
  2. Water bottle, green painted metal, inside blanket material covering, similar to WWII British issue, with brown leather straps, stopper has fallen inside bottle, otherwise VGC. $ 20.00

 

United Kingdom

  1. Can opener from a ration pack, stainless steel, marked MADE IN ENGLAND, VGC. $ 5.00
  2. Gas mask, Civilian Duty, date stamped 16 April 1942, made by Siebe Gorman & Co. Ltd. Neptune Works Tolworth, stamped Civilian Duty No.5, complete with all straps, metal canister and canvass shoulder bag, also stamped Siebe Gorman & Co. Ltd. Makers, London, slight rusting on edge of canister, otherwise VGC. $ 45.00
  3. Pattern 1937 Jungle Carbine magazine pouch, green, stamped M.E.C.Co. 1945 with an Arrow, over A.F.0266, and has an L stamped on the back, VGC. $ 20.00
  4. Webbing strap, brass buckle, stamped with manufacturers initials but cannot make it out, date 1918, 455 and arrow, some verdigris on buckle, otherwise VGC. $ 5.00

 

United States of America

1.      Chain saw, WWII Army issue, collapsible, folds up and fits into a canvas and leather pouch, consists of a long chain saw, two handles that screw apart, a wooden reel that the saw rolls up around, and a canvas pouch with leather strap and buckle and bottom, carried in many trucks during WWII and used for disposal of trees and other obstacles, pouch bit dirty and has a few small holes in it, wooden handles a bit dry, otherwise VGC. MC 205/17-19. $ 45.00

2.      Collapsible canteen/flotation bladder, made by Trenton Textile E & M Co. Inc., 1970s period, used by Rhodesian S.A.S. N.C.O., given to him by Major John Murphy, see books The Elite, Rhodesian S.A.S. and Top Secret War, Selous Scouts, Maj. Murphy mentioned in both books, VGC. Similar to SASF page 26 item 16. $ 30.00

3.      Collapsible canteen/flotation bladder, made by Trenton Textile E & M Co. Inc., 1970s period, used by Rhodesian Selous Scout N.C.O., used. Similar to SASF page 26 item 16. $ 25.00

4.      Entrenching tool carrier/cover, green plastic with metal belt clips, VGC. $ 10.00

5.      Grenade vest, WWI, 11 pouches, G.P. & CO. INC, April 1918 stamped on the back, near mint. $ 55.00

6.      M1911 .45 magazine belt pouch, green canvas, post-WWII (?), with press-stud stamped F/X 11 RG, holds two magazines, VGC. $ 5.00

7.      M1911 .45 pistol hip holster, WWII, made by ENGER-KRESS, VGC. $ 100.00

8.      M1923 Cartridge Belt, ten pouches, no markings visible, some rusting to the eyelets and a bit dirty, otherwise VGC. $ 30.00

9.      Water bottle pouch, green nylon with fur lining inside, press-studs, metal belt clips, small pouch in side, VGC. $ 5.00

10.   Water bottle, cup and pouch, WWII, bottle stamped underneath with U.S. VOLLRATH 1943, inside cap is engraved US 43, cup also stamped U.S. and can make out M.A.C… and a year which looks like 1943, some minor dents in the water bottle, cup has been used over a fire to warm water and the pouch is faded, otherwise VGC. (This water bottle was issued to a French Army nurse who used it during and for many years after the war on her botany trips in the bush) $ 45.00
